Poverty and Hunger

Family Promise of Blount County

Family Promise of Blount County is one of over 150 affiliates of the National Family Promise organization, which has been serving homeless families for 20 years. The goal of Family Promise is to help homeless families find lasting employment and housing through a network of congregations and local resources within Blount County that provide overnight accommodations and meals to families on a week-to-week basis.
The Family Promise day center and offices are located at 1009 Middlesettlements Road, Maryville, TN 37801 (the former Bungalow Methodist Church.) They have many needs including volunteers to help in the office, clean the day center, and monetary. Also, as a part of Blount County’s network of churches, Monte Vista welcomes families into our facilities one week each quarter. Volunteers are needed at Monte Vista to help set up for the week, serve as evening and overnight hosts, and return the facilities to other ministry needs at the end of the week.
