Finding Middle Ground in an Extreme World,
Wednesdays in January, 6:00pm, Room 240, Jerry Mantooth Facilitator

We are growing accustomed to the extreme positions of our world.  Some of the distance is caused by things out of our control like financial resources and food availability.  Some of the distance is caused by how we choose to express our political and/or religious beliefs.
When we stop long enough to listen and learn, we discover our position is not totally right and the other person’s position is not totally wrong.  Our world is not as black and white as we often make it out to be.  Truth can sometimes be found in that in-between place.  I am not talking about compromise or living without conviction.  It is the place where we are willing to go deeper into the major issues and find a moral center that will guide our decisions and behavior.
We are blocking off some Wednesday nights in January (6:00, Room 251) to look at a few issues that are not as clear cut as we have been led to believe.  I will start us off with a current topic and then allow you as a participant to make suggestions for future discussions.  Join us as we search together.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpen another.
